Salt, Stars and Sand

세상에는 우리가 의지하거나, 의존하거나, 뭔가 생길 거라고 확신할 수 있는 것이 많지 않습니다.

There is not much in the world that we can rely on, depend on or say with certainty that something will come to pass.

이것은 처음부터 사실이었으므로 새로운 것이 아닙니다.

This has been true since the beginning of time so it is nothing new.

인간은 신실하고, 일관되고, 신뢰할 수 있는 사람이 되려고 노력해왔지만, 결국 인간의 관점에서 기대할 수 있는 것은 거의 없습니다.

Man has tried to be faithful, consistent and trustworthy but in the end, there is little we can count on from a human perspective.

약속을 지키려고 노력하지만 실패합니다.

We try to keep promises but fail

제시간에 도착하려고 노력하지만 늦게 도착합니다.

We try to be on time but we arrive late

끝까지 최선을 다하여 실망하지 않으려고 하지만 우리는 부족합니다.

We do our best to follow through and not disappoint but we fall short.

우리가 통제할 수 없는 많은 것들이 있으며 우리는 물리적 현실에 의해 제한받습니다. 우리는 출퇴근 시간 10분 동안에 가야 할 34마일(55킬로미터)을 여행할 수 없습니다.

So much is out of our control and we are limited by physical realities; we simply cannot travel the 34 miles needed to go, in 10 minutes time during rush hour traffic.

큰 사건들이 계획되고, 돈이 소비되고, 모든 것이 한데 모여지고, 눈폭풍, 얼음폭풍, 허리케인, 토네이도가 일어납니다. 우리가 그 일들에 대해 할 수 있는 일은 많지 않습니다.

Big events are planned, money spent, everything comes together and then there is a snow storm, ice storm, hurricane or tornado; not a whole lot we can do about those things.

하지만, 인간이 한 어떤 약속보다 더 확실한 것이 있고, 인간의 보증보다 분명한 것이 하나 있는데 날씨, 정치, 경제, 질병이나 인간의 나약함에도 영향을 받지 않습니다 - 하나님의 사랑, 그의 신실하심과 약속들입니다.

However, there is one thing that is more certain than any promise made by man, more sure than human guarantees, not affected by weather, politics, economics, sickness or human weakness - God’s love, his faithfulness and promises

하나님은 우리 각자를 사랑하시고, 우리가 구원받을 수 있도록 가능한 모든 일을 해주셨습니다.

God loves the each of us and has done everything possible for us to be saved.

때때로 우리의 신앙은 흔들리고, 시험 받고, 도전 받거나 약화될 수 있지만, 하나님의 말씀은 우리가 그를 신뢰할 수 있다는 것을 알려줍니다.

Sometimes our faith can become shaken, tested, challenged or weakened, but God’s Word lets us know we can trust in him.

남들이 뭐라 해도, 우리의 상황이 어떠하든, 하나님은 신실하십니다!

No matter what others say, no matter what our circumstances look like, God is faithful!

나는 하나님의 뜻이 그들의 삶에 무엇인지 말할 수는 없지만, 모든 사람을 구원하는 것이 그의 뜻임은 100 % 확실하게 말할 수 있습니다.

I cannot tell anyone what God's will is for their life, but I can with 100% certainty say that it is his will for all to be saved.

벧후 3:9

주의 약속은 어떤 이들이 더디다고 생각하는 것 같이 더딘 것이 아니라 오직 주께서는 너희를 대하여 오래 참으사 아무도 멸망하지 아니하고 다 회개하기에 이르기를 원하시느니라

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Salt

레 2:13

네 모든 소제물에 소금을 치라 네 하나님의 언약의 소금을 네 소제에 빼지 못할지니 네 모든 예물에 소금을 드릴지니라

Leviticus 2:13

13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

소금은 동방의 사람들에게 중요했으며, 음식을 보존하고 양념을 하고 땀을 통해 잃어버린 소금을 보충하고 동맹을 인장하기 여행자들에 의해 운반되었습니다.

Salt was important to those of the east and was carried by travelers to preserve and season food, replenish salt lost through sweat and seal alliances.

냉장고가 없던 시절에, 소금은 필수적이었습니다.

In a time when there was no refrigeration, salt was vital

여행자들이 만났을 때 그들은 이 가방에서 저 가방으로 소금을 교환했고, 따라서 소금이 분리되지 않는 한 그들의 우정이나 동맹을 봉인했습니다; 이것은 사실상 불가능했습니다.

When travelers met they would exchange salt from one bag to another, thus sealing their friendship or alliance as long as the salt was not separated; this was virtually impossible to do.

 수 9:14-15

Joshua 9:14-15

14 And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the Lord. 15 And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them.

성경은 하나님께서 그의 자손에게 이스라엘의 왕좌를 영원히 약속하셨고 소금 언약으로 이것을 봉인하셨다고 합니다. – 이것은 영원히 다스리는 예수 그리스도 안에서 이루어집니다.

The Bible tells us that God has promised his seed the throne of Israel forever and sealed it with a covenant of salt – this is fulfilled in Jesus Christ who reigns forever.

대하 13:5

이스라엘 하나님 여호와께서 소금 언약으로 이스라엘 나라를 영원히 다윗과 그의 자손에게 주신 것을 너희가 알 것 아니냐

2 Chronicles 13:5

5 Ought ye not to know that the Lord God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?

하나님께서는 이스라엘과의 그의 언약이, 예언의 성취인 교회와의 그의 언약이 깨뜨려질 수 없음을 우리에게 알려주고 계십니다.

God is letting us know that his covenant with Israel and by prophetic fulfillment, the church, cannot be broken.

다윗의 후손 예수님은 왕좌에 영원히 앉으실 것입니다.

The seed of David, Jesus, will forever sit on the throne.

이 언약에서 나누어진 소금을 분리하는 것은 불가능합니다.

It would be impossible to separate the salt that was shared in this covenant.

소금이 분리될 수 없는 한, 언약은 안전합니다!

As long as the salt cannot be separated, the covenant is secure!

 별

Stars

렘 31:35-37

[35] 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하셨느니라 그는 해를 낮의 빛으로 주셨고 달과 별들을 밤의 빛으로 정하였고 바다를 뒤흔들어 그 파도로 소리치게 하나니 그의 이름은 만군의 여호와니라 [36] 이 법도가 내 앞에서 폐할진대 이스라엘 자손도 내 앞에서 끊어져 영원히 나라가 되지 못하리라 여호와의 말씀이니라 [37] 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시니라 위에 있는 하늘을 측량할 수 있으며 밑에 있는 땅의 기초를 탐지할 수 있다면 내가 이스라엘 자손이 행한 모든 일로 말미암아 그들을 다 버리리라 여호와의 말씀이니라

Jeremiah 31:35-37

35 Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is his name:

36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

37 Thus saith the Lord; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord.

하늘에 있는 별들과 태양과 달이 반드시 궤도에 나타나듯이, 하나님께서는 이스라엘에게

그들이 회복될 것을 약속하셨습니다.

 As sure as the stars in the sky, as sure as the sun and the moon will appear in their course, God promised Israel that they would be restored.

이 회복은 우리에게 중요합니다. 이스라엘이 없다면 그러면 메시아가 없기 때문입니다.

This restoration is important to us because if there is no Israel then there is no Messiah.

하나님께서는 아무튼 태양, 달, 별들이 소멸된다면 이스라엘이 그의 백성이 되지 않을 것이라 하셨습니다.

God said if somehow the sun, moon and stars cease to exist, then Israel would cease to be his people.

우리가 가지고 있는 모든 것으로 시도하더라도 결코 하늘의 별을 모두 없앨 수 없기에 그의 언약은 확실합니다.

We can try with all that we have and never remove all the stars in the heavens, thus His covenant remains sure.

하나님께서는 아무튼 우리가 하늘과 땅의 기초를 측량해낼 수 있다면 그의 언약은 끝날 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다.

God said that if we somehow manage to measure the heavens and the foundation of the earth then his covenant would cease.

인간이 아직 우주의 광대함을 이해하지 못 했기에 하나님의 언약은 확실합니다.

Man has not yet begun to understand the vastness of the universe so God’s covenant is sure.

고려해야 할 몇 가지 숫자:

·       은하수 1000억 개의 별

·       안드로메다 1조 개의 별

·       소용돌이 은하 1000억 개의 별

·       삼각형자리 400억 개의 별

·       거대 마젤란성 300억 개의 별

A few numbers to consider:

·            Milky Way 100 billion stars

·            Andromeda 1 trillion stars

·            Whirlpool 100 billion stars

·            Triangulum 40 billion stars

·            Large Magellanic 30 billion stars

여러분의 믿음이 흔들린다고 느낄 때, 낮이든 밤이든 바깥을 한번 둘러보십시오. 그리고 하나님의 말씀이 진리라는 것을 확신하십시오.

When you feel your faith wavering, just take a look outside, day or night, and rest assured God's Word is true.

렘 33:20-22

[20] 여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시니라 너희가 능히 낮에 대한 나의 언약과 밤에 대한 나의 언약을 깨뜨려 주야로 그 때를 잃게 할 수 있을진대 [21] 내 종 다윗에게 세운 나의 언약도 깨뜨려 그에게 그의 자리에 앉아 다스릴 아들이 없게 할 수 있겠으며 내가 나를 섬기는 레위인 제사장에게 세운 언약도 파할 수 있으리라 [22] 하늘의 만상은 셀 수 없으며 바다의 모래는 측량할 수 없나니 내가 그와 같이 내 종 다윗의 자손과 나를 섬기는 레위인을 번성하게 하리라 하시니라

Jeremiah 33:20-22

20 Thus saith the Lord; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;

21 Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.

22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.

하나님께서는 다윗과의 약속과 언약을 반복하여 말씀하십니다.

God reiterates His promise and covenant with David.

하나님은 또다시 인간이 태양, 달, 별을 멈춰보라 하십니다. - 그들이 할 수 없는 일입니다.

He again challenges man to stop the sun, moon and stars – which they cannot do.

그러면 하나님께서는 그의 언약이 그대로 남아 있을 뿐만 아니라, 다윗의 후손을 바닷가 모래처럼 번성하게 하실 것이라고 말씀하십니다.

Then God not only says His covenant will remain the same, but also, he will multiply the seed of David like the sand of the sea.

바닷가 모래는 측량할 수 없으므로, 하나님께서는 우리에게 그가 다윗과 맺으신 그의 약속과 언약을 지킬 뿐만 아니라, 우리가 상상할 수 있는 것 이상으로 번성하게 하실 것이라고 알려주십니다.

As the sand of the sea cannot be measured, God’s is letting us know that he will not only keep his promise and covenant with David, but he will increase them so much that it will be beyond anything we can imagine.

엄격한 의미에서 이것은 이스라엘을 다루고 있으나, 더 큰 의미에서 이스라엘에 메시아와 예수 그리스도가 오시며, 다윗의 아들이 영원히 왕좌에 앉게 될 것을 교회를 통하여 다루고 있습니다.

In the strict sense this deals with Israel but in the larger sense it deals with the church for through Israel comes Messiah, Jesus Christ, the son of David to sit on the throne forever.

계시록 5장은 각 족속과 나라와 민족과 방언과 백성에서 어린양을 찬양하는 셀 수 없이 많은 무리가 있다고 말합니다.

Revelation 5 tells us there is an innumerable multitude from every tribe, nation, kindred, tongue, people that is worshipping the Lamb.

 결론

Conclusion:

저는 오늘 여러분을 격려하고 여러분의 믿음을 돕고 싶습니다.

I want to encourage you today and help your faith.

여러분을 사랑하시는 하나님과 보좌에 계신 예수님을 결코 의심하지 마십시오.

Never doubt that God loves you or that Jesus is on the throne.

인생에서 여러분의 신앙이 도전 받는다고 느껴질 때는, 손가락 사이로 소금을 쓱 만져보십시오.

If you feel your faith challenged by life, just run some salt through your fingers.

시련과 고난으로 인해 여러분의 믿음이 약해진다고 느껴질 때는, 손가락으로 사이로 모래를 흘려보십시오.

If you feel your faith weakened by trials and tribulations, just let some sand sift through your fingers

하나님께서 그의 약속을 지키시는지를 물어볼 때에, 하나님께서 그의 말씀을 지키신다는 것을 알기 위해 별, 태양, 달을 보십시오. 하나님은 신실하시고 진실하십니다.

When you question whether God will keep his promise, just look at the stars, the sun or the moon to know that God keeps His word, he is faithful and true.

낮이건 밤이건 어느 계절이건 간에 우리는 하나님의 사랑과 신실하심을 확신할 수 있습니다.

Day or night, no matter the season, we can be assured of God's love and faithfulness.
