Our Apostolic Distinctives

• There is one true God, our Creator and Father. He is the foundation and source of life, truth, morality, right and wrong, justice, and eternity.
• Jesus Christ is the one true God manifested in the flesh to be our Savior. As the Son of God, He is both fully God and fully human. God has revealed His truth, love, and grace through Christ. God is not inaccessible or remote; in Jesus the transcendent God has become immanent, available to us.
• The Bible is God’s Word. The Bible is the infallible source of truth for us, our guide for salvation and Christian life. We evaluate traditions and methods in the light of Scripture.
• Apostolic authority (restorationism): The New Testament church is the paradigm for the church today. Apostolic experience, teaching, and practice are normative for us.
• Salvation is by grace through faith and includes the new birth according to Acts 2:38, specifically, repentance from sin, water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking in tongues.
• We are to pursue the new life of holiness through the power of the Holy Spirit. Holiness is both inward and outward, both personal and social. We should follow the practical teachings of the New Testament in all areas of life including attitudes, relationships, speech, dress, and daily activities.
• The Holy Spirit is God at work in our lives today. We can and should walk in the Spirit, be filled with the Spirit, bear spiritual fruit, and exercise spiritual gifts. We must have an experience and a testimony to match our message.
